Program Overview: Partner Choice through Distribution

Dell is proud to announce a new way of doing business. Dell has made a significant change to its PartnerDirect program, which supports the Value Added Reseller (VAR) channel, by working with several major distributors to begin carrying inventory of select Dell client products within the U.S. Based on partner feedback, and in an effort to continue supporting this strategic channel, Dell has launched with several pre-configured Vostro Desktop and Laptop systems, which are designed for the needs of small businesses.
Dell’s PartnerDirect program was designed to provide a simple, effective way for resellers to build a formal relationship with Dell. Through it, Registered and Certified partners have access to a wide range of Dell products at favorable pricing, the benefits of Dell’s build-to-order model, sales and technical resources, and tools to merchandise and grow their business.
As a result of this effort, partners will further benefit by being able to take faster delivery of popular system configurations. Partners will now be able to purchase these select products directly from distributors along with continuing to purchase the full Dell offering through their direct relationship. This is a significant milestone and it demonstrates Dell’s commitment to partners and the small businesses they service by providing readily available configurations from a trusted source with whom many already do business.

Why is Dell doing this?
Partner choice. Dell has enhanced its value proposition to partners by providing another sourcing option for its products; distribution. Through distribution, a reseller will have rapid access to select Dell small business Vostro desktops and laptops from a distribution partner with which they may already have a relationship.
Never before have partners been able to get Dell small business desktops and laptops on a rapid-delivery basis. Now, through Dell’s relationship with distributor partners, resellers can quickly get the systems they need to meet their customers’ needs.

What products will be offered?
Today, select Vostro small business desktops, laptops, and Dell monitors are available. The systems have been configured to cover popular combinations of system components. We expect to add additional items in the future.
How do I purchase?


Does this change my relationship with Dell?
This in no way changes your relationship or purchase options with Dell PartnerDirect. What you gain is, in a word, flexibility. If you need a small business computer quickly and can not wait for standard delivery times, you now have another sourcing option. If you already have a relationship with Tech Data or Ingram Micro, you can now add select Dell systems to your purchase order from them.
Can a Reseller authorized by Dell to sell to the US Federal government place orders for Federal end users through these distributors?
No. Due to the complex regulatory framework required for Federal sales, all orders for Federal sales must continue to be processed through Dell's Federal Government Sales Team.
